Frequent Questions of UW MSTP matriculants during their first quarter in Seattle

When do we get paid?
All UW employees are paid on the 10th and 25th of the month. If payday falls on a Saturday, we are paid on Friday; if payday falls on a Sunday, we are paid on Monday. If the 10th or 25th is a holiday, we are generally paid a day later (though that varies).

How do I tell what has been deducted from my paycheck?
Consult your pay stub in Employee Self-Service.

No taxes have been deducted from my paycheck, even though I filled out a W-4. What's going on?
Generally speaking, little if any money will be withheld from your paychecks when you are in the medical school portion of your studies. The only way to check and see what is being withheld is to check your pay stub. However, the IRS still wants its share. Details about taxes as an MSTP student are available here.
