State Tourism – Pacific Coast Some places to investigate: Makah Indian ReservationThere are many beaches to explore and trails to hike on the reservation, including the Cape Flattery Trail, which leads to Cape Flattery, the most northwestern part of the contiguous United States. Of cultural interest is the Makah Cultural & Research Center. Whale watching and fishing charters are also offered out of Neah Bay. The park is spectacular throughout, but of particular interest is Lake Ozette area, the Cape Alava boardwalk trail to the coastline, and the Hoh Rainforest in the interior. Ocean Shores is on the north end of Grays Harbor and Westport is on the south. Beach combing, fishing charters, whale watching, kite flying, and many other oceanfront activities await you here. The park houses the Lewis and Clark Interpretative Center. Hiking, Lighthouse touring, whale watching, views of the Columbia River, and beach combing are among the activities available.
