So You are Invited to Interview

You will receive an email notification of your invitation to interview. To sign up, log back into your application and select one of the three interview weekend dates: [TBA]. You have the same likelihood of being accepted regardless of the date you choose.

Once you choose your interview date, detailed information about your interview will be available in your application; this information should be read before you decide on your faculty list and make travel arrangements. Travel costs will be reimbursed at the level indicated in your application.

Interview weekends last from Thursday-Sunday. The usual interview weekend schedule is as follows:

Acceptances

Interviewees are notified of the results right after their interview weekend via a telephone call from Dr. Larry Loeb, the MSTP Director. The formal acceptance packet is mailed the following week. Students placed on hold are notified by email generally the Monday following their interview (though this may be delayed by a day or two). Rejection letters are mailed out in the week following the interview.

After You are Accepted

Accepted applicants should submit their tentative acceptance, firm acceptance, or withdrawl via email within two weeks of receiving their formal acceptance packet. Accepted applicants have the opportunity to come back for a second visit; travel costs are reimbursed at the same level as the first visit. The group revisit weekend is [TBA]; however, you may revisit whenever is most convenient for you. Second visits allow you time for thorough visits with the faculty you are interested in, and provide you the opportunity to tour the Seattle area in greater detail than during your first visit.

Accepted applicants to the UW MSTP must submit their firm acceptance or withdrawl by May 15th, 2010.
